Joining as an intern, I am working towards building and deploying a project along side the team at Go Rails. This internship has given me the opportunity to work with experienced and knowledgable developers in a collaborative environment.
RailsConf Scholar
I was selected as a RailsConf Scholar for RailsConf 2024. The program pairs you with a guide, giving you the opportunity to expand your professional network and learn from experienced developers. In addition, I was able to present a 'Lightning Talk', where I spoke on the challenges of being a self-taught developer and my decision to join the Rails community.
The Odin Project
I began my journey with The Odin Project, a free, open-source coding curriculum that teaches web development. I began with their Javascript and React path, cementing the foundations of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and React. After completing the curriculum, I then transitioned to the Full Stack Ruby on Rails path which taught the basics of Ruby, Rails, SQL, and more.
